Sam Barakat brings us an inspired series of original paintings, an introspective look at man’s condition, our imprisonment within our own life confinements, aptly labeled “Cage in a Cage…”. Sam explores the sensitive correlation between human existence and that of the caged bird. The following are 18 images in the series, some on canvas and some on paper, utilizing rich textures, colors and shapes to explore man’s self-imposed captivity and quest for freedom from his carefully crafted cage. Sam’s art is mixed media, sometimes employing acrylics to produce his lush creations and sometimes applying henna for the desired affect.
