I really love Moshe’s art!  The depth of the background is a stark contrast to the intoxicatingly bright hues on the subject face.  The distortion in the face is mesmerizing, soulful and compelling.  The eye is drawn into the swirling darkness of the shadows and the typical flow of colors that Moshe has perfected.  This strikes me as a concerto of opposites captured in an all too human face.  Acrylic on canvas, 24” x 36”.

River of Life

This is, by far, my favorite of Moshe’s offerings on Arts That Work.  He has incorporated the raw palette into his art in a very new and exciting fashion.  The title of the piece is perfect, as forms appear to stream in and out of life’s ever flowing river, gracefully floating in oneness, yet maintaining individuality, thus advancing the whole.  This is a very spiritual expression by a very talented artist!  Acrylic and oil on a 4’ x 4’ wood panel.

Youth

I like this one particularly.  Departing from his use of only bright colors, Moshe has incorporated a dark background into his lively depiction of two youths.  There is more definition to the figures in this piece than in Moshe’s other offerings with much more black, despite the appearance of Moshe’s usual color festival flowing within the figures.  I find the eyes of the subject haunting and almost feral.  Yet the vibrant life forces of color still happily dance within the confines of these youth.  Very cool!  24” x 36” acrylic on canvas.

Soul Group

Not only does the genuine boldness of these colors excite the senses, the texture of the piece adds even further depth to these artistic swirls of life.  As with all of Moshe’s work, the eye just flows over the canvas in a pleasing fashion.  These souls sensuously commune together.  One does not distinctly end where another begins.  What a dynamic composition!  9” x 12’ acrylic on canvas.

The Dance

Moshe’s characteristic swirling of hues creates a turquoise festival for the eye as these figures gyrate in an energetic dance.  As in Moshe’s other offerings, the colors seem to flow into one another, yet masterfully maintain their integrity as the figures perform their fluidly ecstatic movements.  Acrylic on canvas 16” x 20”.

Freedom

This piece is creativity in its purest form.  Moshe has perfectly integrated the texture, coloring and striations from the wood palette into his art.  This amazingly original 4’ x 4’ oil and acrylic on a wood panel is like nothing I have seen before and I love the freshness and freedom of Moshe’s approach as well as the fluidity of the composition.  How very cool!

Deciding on Form

Have you ever seen such richly vivid colors so perfectly placed?!  They seem to move about the page as the artist creates a swirling mass of intricacies and light.  Faces, beings, colors, movement, all in a flux, all working in magnificent harmony.  This is a very special composition.  Acrylic on canvas, 9” x 12”.
