View Hadiya's Work

Hadiya Finley’s sculpture “…begins as intuitive visualizations and, through the processes of manipulating materials, becomes articulated into meaning.”  The artist states that her desire “…is to create art which challenges the viewer’s notions of beauty, provokes unsettling emotion, and contributes to changing cultural attitudes.” 

Hadiya finds her inspiration in the female form. She studies it, molds it from clay, wood, paint, and drawings, celebrating the forms, the lines, and the colors of the human female. Her art honors the softness and beauty of her subjects while eliciting its innate strength.
