The statement I make with these sculptures is that beauty can be created through the common items we normally toss away without a second thought. I invite you to look deep inside. Find surprises and contemplate what you feel when you are viewing. Are there memories stimulated? Are there sights, sounds and smells that are triggered? I don't need an answer. Success was in watching each piece evolve.

Twin Peaks and all the stuff in between

Life is complicated.  Dellis likes to maneuver “all the stuff in between that gets us to the other side.  It’s interesting, it’s fun and it’s an adventure.”  Life isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey.  This tactile symphony of color will bring light and laughter to your journey.  Enjoy!

28” x 18” x 11”.

This fancifully airy fiber art suggests cool, smooth, low, and mellow.  Composed of fibers, cardboard, beads, paint, wood and other found treasures to create a dreamy euphoria, this delightful one-of-a-kind wall sculpture stands 36” tall by 10” across and is 6” deep and commands a very visible place in your home.  What do you think of when you see blue?

This ethereal fiber art has magically unfolded from the artistic interweaving of love, abundance and the cosmic eternal.  Crafted from remnants of our past, the beautiful design goes on and on and on….  The sculpture measures 36.5” x 9” x 7.5”.  This is truly splendid!

In a world of emerging robotics and all things electronic, Dellis offers her vision of this angular phenomenon in an intricately woven fiber sculpture that is simply mesmerizing.  The sculpture measures 22.5” x 15” x 5.5”.

Flower
Price: $1,500*

Flower

Relentlessly following her quest to re-use empty bottles that would otherwise clog landfills, Dellis has employed her craft to “grow” a fiber flower and allow it to happily dwell in its earth of recycled cardboard tubes and dowels.  A joyous artistic creation of ingenuity and rebirth!  This fiber sculpture measures 60” (no shrinking flower, this…) by 36” by 36”.

Spring
Price: $550*

Spring

In Ohio, this was spring--gentle crocuses tentatively sending slender shoots from the gray mass that was the winter’s earth.  Dellis’s version of spring embraces this promise of new growth while the winter’s starkness reluctantly relinquishes control.  I like the composition and the contrast of opposites the artist has employed in this 19” x 14” x 9” fiber art sculpture.

did we get the money?

Did We Get the Money?

In her political statement about the use of the millions taken in through the lottery system, Dellis has created a 36” x 15” x 8” multi-hued fiber sculpture to nudge our elected officials.  Using a cardboard tube from the California lotto marketing campaign, Dellis asks whether or not we received the money intended for education from the millions that pour in from the California lottery.  Well…did we?
