What I am attempting to convey with my photography is to use it as a way to listen. Every being in nature has a voice. If one is silent enough, those voices can be heard. John Muir, the famous environmentalist/writer/explorer knew this, ofttimes spending hours listening to a flower, or a waterfall, or a rock. Out of his deep listening, the environmental movement in the U.S. was born, as was our National Parks system, set up to protect the wildness of nature from exploitation.

I want my photos to reveal the depth, variety and artistry of what the wild world is speaking to us in its quietude, a reminder to look again at our world with the eyes we once had, of childhood innocence and awe.
