Bathing Boys

I thoroughly love this painting!  Andre has superbly captured the eternal spirit and optimism of youth in this picture of an everyday miracle.  The joyous face of the beautifully mischievous subject inspires hope in even the direst of life’s circumstances.  I particularly enjoy the artist’s stimulating use of colors, creatively enlivening the piece. Desert Dolls

Andre Ajibade’s art for creating magic out of everyday sights is nowhere more poignantly exemplified than in this brilliant flight into tribal ritual.  Unlike some of Andre’s other pieces, where skin tones are muted against a vibrant background, this oil pastel employs rich colors for the primary subjects with more subdued colors on the horizon.  Andre’s gift for capturing the nuances of the human form is mesmerizing.   What an exquisite composition!  34”x 18” matted and framed by the artist.

I think I know these kids…  Even Andre’s devil looks angelic, despite the obvious attitude. So much for MY ability to read people.  What a great composition!  Very cool.   33”x 24” giclee print.

Village Gossip

Frankly, I just love the name of this piece!  Andre’s sense of whimsy and humor are all wrapped up in this vivaciously colorful African village scene.  I guess everyone has their own Yenta.  Who knew??!!   Piece measures 16" x 20".

Adored Warrior

 This majestic work illustrates a proud heritage revering its warrior.  Note the varied colors Andre incorporates into this composition.  The foreground figures, of almost photographical realism, are muted with multiple shades of charcoal grey and neutrals.  As seen in much of Andre’s work, the contrasting background landscape utterly jumps at you with its exquisitely rich hues and stunning scenery.  The entire symphony powerfully transmits an energetic combination of honor and playfulness.  Available in 33”x 22” giclee print.

Mother Nurture

This natural expression of love at its most basic human level is Andre Ajibade at his finest.  Relying on the muted colors of the universe to sustain his setting, Andre ingeniously incorporates bright colors into a somber backdrop for a striking effect.  He saves the use of richer hues for the skin tones of his subjects with just the right touch of yellows and greens to keep the viewer’s eye riveted on the nursing child and its mother.  What a wonderful work of art.  30”x 24” oil pastel on illustration board, framed and matted by the artist.
